Happy Birthday Shawn

Our birthday traditions were we always went to Red Robin for dinner because they would sing Happy Birthday too you but now they don't do that so whoever birthday it is they get to choose where they would like to go for dinner and what kind of cake they would like.

For Shawn's birthday his Dad Smith came in for the weekend.  Shawn got to enjoy watching football all weekend long with his dad.  For Shawn's birthday he decided on a restaurant called Dimaggios which is right up the road and is a pizza place.  Then we came back home and I made him a cake and he opened his gifts from me and the girls.  He had a great birthday weekend.

Fall Soccer Has Started

Soccer season is in full swing and what a great season so far.  Sydney got her coaches that she has had the last few years and she also got on the team that she has also played with the past few years.  We have played three games so far and have won all three games.  Sydney finally scored her first goal on opening day and then the following weekend she scored two more goals.  She has improved so much this year and is playing so well.  We have a great team, coaches, parents and is really enjoying this season.  We are so proud of Sydney and her team!!  GO SHARKS!!!

Brooke's First Day of Preschool

Our little girl Brooke is in her last year of preschool and next fall she will be starting kindergarten it just seems like she was born.  She goes to preschool Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and she stays for lunch two days.  She loves going to school. She is so excited because she can write her name all by herself now.  Brooke is our girl that pushes all the buttons that you have but then the next minute she is our sweet little girl.  We are so proud of her in everything that she does and yes she is totally like her mom!!

Sydney's First Day of School - Third Grade

WOW my baby is in third grade.  Not sure how that happened.  I was really sad this year though because I asked her if she was riding the bus or if I was going to take her to school on the first day like I have since the first day of kindergarten.  She told me that she was going to ride the bus with her friends on the first day.  I was sad but also proud of her.  She makes Shawn and I proud of her every signal day.  Our girl has turned into the most beautiful, kind hearted little girl a parent could ask for.

Where did the Summer Go????

I'm really bad and realize I have not blog since the last day of school.  The summer went way to fast.  We had a busy summer in the Smith house.  Shawn and I went to St. Thomas for our ten year anniversary early.  (our anniversary is in October)  Shawn's mom and dad Smith came down for the week and watched the girls so that Shawn & I could go by our self.  We went to St. Thomas on our honeymoon and ten years later we stayed at the same hotel and had a great time.  The girls had a blast with Mimi & Papa and Aunt Nikki.  They went to Myrtle Beach for a couple of days and had a lot of fun.

When we came home Sydney went back up to Michigan for three weeks.  Brooke was suppose to go but she decided when we were gone in St. Thomas that she was not going and staying home with mom and dad.  Three weeks is the longest that Sydney has ever been gone and I could not wait for her to come home.  We went up to Michigan for a week to visit family and friends and to pick her up and bring her home.

When we were in Michigan Sydney and Shawn went up to Lansing with Mimi & Papa Wilson and spent the afternoon meeting the Spartans football players, and the coach.  They had a lot of fun.  We spent a lot of time with family and also got to see a few friends.

The girls have also enjoyed swimming at our pool all summer long.  They have turned into really good little swimmers.  They love going to the pool and would stay there all day if I let them.

It was a busy summer that went by way to fast but we did have a great summer.
