Brooke Turns Three

I can not believe that my little baby Brooke turned three. It just seems like yesterday I was getting ready to have her and now she is three. I guess I should not call her my little baby she is now my big girl. I have told both girls that they may be big girls now but no matter how old they get they will always be my little babies.

Mimi Smith, Aunt Holly and Aunt Nikki came to help celebrate Brooke's birthday along with all of her friends from the neighborhood. She had a Dora birthday. She got a lot of great gifts from her friends. She had a great time.

Since her birthday fell on a Monday this year we had her birthday party on Saturday and then on Monday we took Brooke to Red Robin for her birthday. That has been our tradition with Sydney since she turned two and now we are also taking Brooke there. We have dinner and then after they bring out ice cream, balloons and sing Happy Birthday. Brooke loved it. Then we came home and she got to open up more birthday presents. She had such a great birthday.

We also found out that come this fall Brooke will be going to preschool school. She will be going three days a week from 9 to 12. She is so excited to be able to go to school like her big sister. I on the other hand don't know what I'm going to do with myself. We are so excited for her.

Where did February Go??

What happened to February? I can not believe on fast the month went by. Guess with everything going on with the girls it was a busy month. The beginning of February Papa and Mimi Wilson came in for a long weekend. The girls were so excited to see them and we were too. Sydney made 100 days at school and had to do a 100 day project. So she painted 100 hearts on a shirt and wore it to school for 100 days in school. She was also in a play at school which Shawn and I went and saw her in. She was a penguin. She also got pinned in Girl Scouts. She also just started soccer practice for the Spring. She is one busy girl right now.

Brooke is getting so big and trying to be like her big sister. The weather has also finely warmed up here and we have been outside a lot playing and enjoying the warm weather.

Snow/Ice in North Carolina

Last week Monday North Carolina got snow and ice which closed some schools down here for six days. Where we live at we got five inches of snow Monday and by Monday afternoon we got ice on top of the snow. The girls and Shawn went outside with our neighbor's and slide down the hill in the backyard. They had a great time. I could not go out because I got really sick and was inside watching them. Here is a couple of pictures.

Christmas

Christmas this year we went to Michigan to spend it with the family. We spent Christmas Eve with my family all day long. Shawn, my dad and brother-in-law Joe went out to lunch together and us girls stayed back at my sister's house with the kids and they made sugar cookies for Santa Claus. When the guys got back and we were all done baking we open gifts and then we had dinner. It was a great day and was so glad that we spent the whole day together because after that I did not get to see my family because they got sick with that flu that is going around. I'm so happy we got to spend the whole day together but also sad that I did not get to see my family the rest of the time we were there.

Christmas day was spent with Shawn's family. The girls got up that morning to see that Santa had came and ate their cookies they made and left them a letter and filled their stockings and left them gifts. This year Santa only brought one gift each for the girls to Michigan and then brought the rest to North Carolina. We told Santa that we just don't have the room in the van to bring everything home. So Santa brought Sydney a netbook computer and Brooke got her IPod that she wanted.

Christmas this year with Brooke was so much fun. Everything is got she loved and would say that is what she wanted. My sister got her a pair of boots that she wanted and when she opened it that was her best gift ever!!! She pulled them out and hugged them and said I love them and I wanted them and had to put them on right away. Don't get me wrong Sydney loved everything also but Brooke this year was so much fun.

The girls also got to go sledding when we were in Michigan with their dad and papa's. They had so much fun. We also got to see some of our friends but not everybody.

We left a day early because bad weather was coming for Michigan. We got home and Santa did bring the rest of the gifts here so the girls got to open all of those. In all the girls had a great Christmas and we had a great time in Michigan even though everybody was sick and we did not get to spend time with my family.
