Fall/Halloween 2009

The girls have had a lot of fun this fall. We found an Apple Orchard here in North Carolina up in the mountains. It was about hour and half drive. We only went once but we got our apple orchard fix for the year. We had parent teacher conference with Sydney teacher and she is doing great in school. She is above where she should be for kindergarten which is great. She is going on her first field trip a week from Monday. They are going to a petting farm for the day. She has already went to a birthday party for one of the kids in her class. Brooke is getting so big and is learning and saying a lot of new words. She would love to go to school with her sister.

Sydney was Princess Leia for Halloween and Brooke was going to be Elmo but she got sick with a fever and had to stay home. We did teach her how to say trick and treat and thank you which she did not get to do. Before we went treat and treating we went up to our clubhouse and we had dinner and snacks and did a Halloween parade with all the kids from the neighbor it was a lot of fun. After Sydney and I went trick and treating and Shawn stayed home with Brooke and passed out candy.

We are looking forward to coming up to Michigan for Thanksgiving. We can not want to see everybody and I know the girls are looking forward to it too.

End of Summer and Sydney Starting Kindergarten

We have had great summer in North Carolina. The girls really enjoy the pool and so did I. I can not believe that it will be a year next week that we moved down here. Time is just flying by. Sydney started kindergarten and she loves it. She goes into school all by herself. We are so proud of her. I will say that it is weird just having one at home.

Summer Time in NC

Sorry that it has been awhile since I sent out a blog. It has been a busy three months in the Smith family. We went up to Michigan the end of June for my sister wedding reception and then the end of July for Shawn's sister wedding reception. It was great seeing everybody. The girls also stayed in July for a week with their Papa's and Mimi's and I heard from Sydney that her and Brooke had a great time with everybody. They went to the zoo with Mimi Krause, Aunt Vicki and Hailey. They went to Cedar Point with Aunt Nikki and Uncle Mike. Sydney went fishing with Papa Smith and also got him to go putt-putt. They had a great time in Michigan with everybody. Shawn's mom, grandma quiagg and aunt Holly brought the girls back and stayed for a week. We took a day trip and went to Myrtle Beach. We found out that Brooke did not like the feeling of the wet sand. Below is a picture of her pulling herself up so that her feet would not touch the sand. It was nice to go there.

Now we are getting ready for Sydney is start kindergarten. We have open house at her school this Friday. She says that she is excited and can not wait to start so I hope that they will be easy because last year was not. She will go Monday thru Friday from 8:00 to 3:00 so it will just be Brooke and me during the day. That will be different.

Other than that nothing else is new here. We are enjoying the summer here and have spent a lot of time at the pool this summer. The girls have a great tan going.

We had to do pottery to match Sydney's. Shawn's mom did these with Sydney when she was eight months old so I told Brooke so that we could do it with her.

Brooke sat all her babies on her coach and covered them up and then she sat down with them. i believe she is going to be another baby girl. She loves her babies. She even makes them cry which I'm still trying to get on film. It is too cute.

Our new tree that Grandma Quiagg got for us when she was down her for the week. It is called Red Crape Myrtle and it flowers in the summer time. It is really pretty. They have them all over down here.

Summer Time Fun

Just wanted to share some pictures of the girls at the pool. The weather has been in the 90's here so we were at the pool almost everyday this week. I hope that everybody is well and we can not wait to see everybody the end of this month.
