Last weekend our neighborhood had a Easter egg hunt on the soccer field. We took the girls up so that they could see the Easter bunny and have some snacks. The girls had a great time.

Sydney in the newspaper
So my kind hearted daughter Sydney was in the local newspaper down here.
Around Christmas time she was talking to her teacher about her Uncle Mike (Shawn's brother-in-law) who is in the Army and would not be able to come up to Michigan for Christmas. Mike was on active duty and could not leave base. So her teacher decided to have each classroom student make Mike a Christmas card and they would send them in the mail to him. So everybody made him a card and they sent them to him. He called me up and asked me if I knew what came in the mail I told him yes that I knew. He could not believe that his niece or classroom students would do such a nice thing. In return Mike sent them a letter along with a flag and coin for the class which they have the flag hanging in their classroom. Mike and Nikki came for a visit to our house in February however Sydney did not know that Uncle Mike came with Aunt Nikki because they came in after the girls were in bed and she had school the next day. So after Sydney went to school Mike and Nikki got ready and went up to school to surprise Sydney and the whole class. Mike went up to school in his uniform. He went outside with them and played basketball and then answered questions that the class had for him.
Now how did she get in the newspaper you ask her teacher knows somebody at the paper that she is friends with and asked me if it would be O.K. to contact Mike that they wanted to write an article about him coming to visit the classroom. I said sure and her and her Uncle Mike were in the paper. Here is the link so you can read it: You might have to copy and paste it so you can read it.
